Wildlife

Discover the great marine life of the Moray Firth on a relaxed 2 hour wildlife watching cruise.

The Moray Firth is famous for it's abundance of wildlife. It is not only the home to the most Northerly resident bottlenose dolphins in the world, but  we also have the opportunity to encounter other species such as Minke, Sperm and Pilot whales, Common and Risso's dolphins, Harbour porpoise, Basking sharks, both Grey and Common seals and occasionally Orcas!

We sail out of Lossiemouth harbour and travel towards Hopeman, passing a seal colony on our way. On board Bill will advise customers of what you are likely to see, informing not only about the spectacular wildlife but also the rich history that our coastline holds.

The trip is suitable for both adults and children of all ages. Life jackets are available for your use if requested.

Complimentary tea, coffee and juice are available throughout the trip. If shelter is needed there is a cabin with a table and seating, along with some educational materials available for your pleasure. There is also an onboard toilet.

The boat is partially accessible and a wheelchair could move around with ease. Unfortunately we regret that the toilet or cabin would not be accessible; however there is a sheltered area if cover is needed.

Bill is a member of the dolphin space programme. The DSP encourage operators to respect dolphins in their environment. Operators must follow a code of conduct which minimizes the disturbance to dolphins and their environment. We use our boat to help conduct observational research on the bottlenose dolphins in order to protect them and their environment. We work in conjunction with The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society and Aberdeen University.

We are also the only boat in the area that has an onboard Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) which allows non-divers to enjoy the delights of the Moray Firth under the surface. We can only use the equipment when conditions allow.
